God sent approximately 124,000 prophets to this world and their task and responsibility was to spread the commandments of Allah to the people of their time. Some of them are:
- Hazrat Adam
- Hazrat Nuh (Noah)
- Hazrat Yusuf (Jospeh)
- Hazrat Yunus (Jonah)
- Hazrat Isa (Jesus)
- Hazrat Ibrahim (Abraham)
- Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
A number of Divine scriptures (books) were revealed to the prophets. The big ones are called the Books and small one are called Scrolls (Sahifahs). The four divine books are:
- Torah (the old testament), revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses PBUH).
- Holy Zabur (Psalms), revealed to Prophet Daud (David PBUH).
- Injil (the new testament), revealed to Prophet Isa (Jesus PBUH).
- The Holy Quran, revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
